MSP360 Introduces Cloud Storage Platform with Its Latest Managed Backup Release

In addition to the spate of additional features and enhancements in version 4.7, which includes MSP360 Storage Powered by Wasabi, the company reveals an SMB product in beta that’s designed to drive MSP referrals.

MSP360, a provider of multicloud data backup and disaster recovery solutions, has released MSP360 Managed Backup version 4.7. The update includes a new storage platform, MSP360 Storage Powered by Wasabi, offering native integration with cloud storage services from Wasabi. Version 4.7 also contains 100 new features, fixes, security improvements, UX enhancements, and support for new AWS regions .

Separately, MSP360 also launched a beta version of MSP360 Managed Backup for Small Business, part of a new marketing initiative designed to assist MSPs with generating quality leads.

The rollouts come on the heels of the company’s August introduction of both MSP360 Managed Remote Desktop, a remote endpoint control solution, and MSP University. The offerings are part of MSP360’s intention to build a multifaceted portfolio of products specifically for MSPs, as ChannelPro reported in September.

The new MSP360 Storage Powered by Wasabi platform enables MSPs to buy software and cloud storage directly from MSP360 and receive a single, comprehensive bill showing both expenses. Pricing for the storage remains the same as with Wasabi ($5.99 per TB per month).

“Unified billing has been top of mind for our customers for a while now,” said Brian Helwig (pictured), CEO of MSP360, in a press statement. “Now, they can enable it if it fits their business needs.” The company is in talks with other cloud storage vendors as well, according to Helwig.

Designed specifically for SMBs, the new MSP360 Managed Backup for Small Business enables businesses to leverage AWS, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, and local storage; eliminate expensive hardware investments; and improve recovery time objectives. The solution’s main features include centralized management, quick recovery, cross-platform backup, customer service, bring your own storage (BYOS), and managed remote desktop.

The intent of the offering is to drive referrals for MSPs, according to the company, which used to sell Managed Backup directly to SMBs for the same price it charged MSPs. MSP360 Managed Backup for Small Business is now priced higher if purchased directly.

“We’ve done this to make hiring an MSP a more attractive option to SMBs,” Helwig said, adding that it’s “setting the stage for a solid channel offering with a lead referral program that we can use to better serve our MSPs by helping them generate more MRR.”
