BLAKE RODGERS, chief revenue officer at SiteLock (pictured), believes that website protection is a huge, untapped market for MSPs. “”It’s something that customers need, and it’s something that’s often overlooked,”” he says.
A website is a business’s “”face to the world,”” he stresses, adding that endpoint protection is not enough.
“”We’re very proactive with the small businesses because they don’t always have the resources, or even the knowledge, and cybersecurity can be a very scary thing,”” Rodgers says. “”But we try to make it simple and affordable and effective.””
Founded in 2008, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based SiteLock’s cloud-based website protection suite includes website scanning, automatic malware removal, vulnerability patching, VPN, website backup, web application firewall, DDoS protection, PCI compliance, and security awareness training. Users receive security alerts via email and can also login to a dashboard with all the security results. According to the company, SiteLock is protecting 16 million websites across the globe.
SiteLock sells both directly and through the channel, and Rodgers says the company has more than 500 partners worldwide, including MSPs, telcos, web developers, hosting providers, and agencies. MSPs can resell the products themselves and own the customer relationship, or be an affiliate partner.
The annual pricing plan varies by complexity and intent of the website. For example, pricing for informational websites that don’t have an existing security issue is $149.99, while websites that are used to drive phone calls and form completions are priced at $499.99 per year.
“”It’s a really big opportunity for MSPs,”” Rodgers emphasizes. “”Yes, they’re going to build a revenue stream, which is great, but they’re going to be doing right by their customers and taking care of them, and that’s the most important thing, because that’s how you build those long-term relationships. And we think that our product portfolio and what we offer is a perfect fit for that.””
