SolarWinds MSP Integrates Cloud-Based RMM System with Kaspersky Security Products

The announcement follows a similar move last May involving N-central, SolarWinds’s on-premises RMM platform.

SolarWinds MSP has integrated cybersecurity solutions from Kaspersky with its cloud-based RMM solution.

The new functionality lets users of the SolarWinds software deploy and manage Kaspersky products from directly within the management console their technicians work in all day, as well as automate routine tasks like updating anti-virus databases.

The two companies announced a similar integration involving N-central, SolarWinds’s on-premises RMM platform, last May.

“The integration across both SolarWinds MSP RMM platforms with our partner, Kaspersky, is going to give our mutual MSP customers even greater opportunity to further protect their systems and those of their customers,” said Marco Muto, director of business development for SolarWinds MSP, in prepared remarks. “The SolarWinds Technology Alliance Partner program extends our ability to more rapidly deliver the third-party solutions MSPs need to be efficient and successful, and this is a great example of that.”

Kaspersky offers products for endpoint protection, hybrid cloud security, threat management, threat intelligence, fraud prevention, security awareness, among others. The company, known as Kaspersky Lab until last June, rolled out a new partner program a year ago.

“MSPs need to be able to provide cyber security services to their customers,” said Casper Teijema, global partner manager at Kaspersky, in a press statement. “To achieve this they need a powerful protection solution which is easy to deliver and manage across multiple clients. This is exactly what Kaspersky is offering with the integration of our endpoint protection products and the SolarWinds MSP RMM platform.”

For SolarWinds, integration with products from vendors like Kaspersky is part of a layered security offering that includes email security, patch management, and BDR functionality as well. In April, the company purchased Passportal to add password management capabilities to its portfolio, and it rolled out endpoint detection and response software in partnership with EDR leader SentinelOne the following month.†

SolarWinds MSP shipped an updated edition of N-central with added support for network topology mapping and data encryption, plus enhanced automation and patch management functionality, last month.
