BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ContinuumÆ, the Platform for What’s Next, announced today that it has opened a new security operations center (SOC) in Pittsburgh. As the channel is faced with a shortage of skilled technical talent—particularly in the area of cybersecurity—MSPs are struggling to find and retain in-house talent to sufficiently protect their end-clients. Continuum’s new Pittsburgh SOC will alleviate this skills gap challenge, providing a unique blend of around-the-clock response and recovery support on top of Continuum’s advanced endpoint security and network security solutions.
The latest SOC installment supplements the company’s existing line of global, always-on operations out of its Atlanta, India, Pittsburgh and other remote locations around the world. With this new addition, Continuum partners benefit from enhanced support for Continuum Fortify, which has double its total secured endpoints under management since July 2018.
In addition, Continuum named Tyrone Smith as the new director of SOC operations at the Pittsburgh location. Smith, who comes from nearly twenty years of information management and risk assessment experience, formerly served as an information security advisor for FedEx Supply Chain. Prior to FedEx, Smith was a sr. technical consultant for enterprise security services at ArcSight, an enterprise security management company.
“Now more than ever, it’s important to reinforce the global cybersecurity support our MSP partners and their customers require in the face of rising threats,” says Tasos Tsolakis, senior vice president of global service delivery, Continuum. “Our Fortify solution is generating upwards of 20,000 ticket requests per month, and we’ve been able to remediate nearly 2,400 cybersecurity incidents in the past 12 months. This increase further emphasizes the need for a new SOC as well as a qualified IT security expert like Tyrone Smith to oversee it.”
“As an IT support company, we are in the trenches of cybersecurity efforts as our customers look to us to solve issues that extend beyond our typical IT services,” says Keith Stark CISSP, CEO of Strata IT. “In this vulnerable landscape, most of our customers are now looking for us to ramp up both our IT and cybersecurity capabilities, which is why Continuum’s new Fortify extension comes at an ideal time for our company and our customers. The Pittsburgh SOC will help strengthen our skillset and services portfolio, and further fulfill our customer needs.”
A tour of the new SOC facility, located at Continuum’s Cranberry Township office, will be available for those attending Continuum’s signature conference,†Navigate 2019 in Pittsburgh, which is taking place October 1–2, 2019. For more information on Navigate 2019 North America†visit here.
