CloudJumper, a†Microsoft named leading partner†for Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), announced three years of extended Microsoft support for Windows 7 in Azure at no cost for customers. In addition to the free Microsoft support, organizations making the transition to Windows Virtual Desktop powered by CloudJumper and running Windows 7 in Azure, will also find a simple migration path to Windows 10.
Microsoft made a commitment to provide 10 years of product support for Windows 7 when it was released on October 22, 2009. When this 10-year period ends, Microsoft will offer three years of extended support at an escalating annual cost. The transition date for Windows 7 is January 14, 2020. After that, technical assistance, security and software updates from Microsoft will require an extended service agreement.
The CloudJumper platform allows organizations to take advantage of continued support for Windows 7 security and system updates without additional investment. As a result, customers benefit from the productivity gains available to companies that remain with the same operating system that executives and staff are familiar using. CloudJumper orchestrates the migration of applications and data from customer environments to Windows Virtual Desktop, making the transition to Windows 7 or 10 in Azure simple and efficient.
Cloud Workspace for Azure eliminates the need to host components outside of Azure’s compute environment and simplifies user access by passing Active Directory Domain Services credentials throughout the platform, using single sign-on to access applications based on user-defined policies for a better overall experience. Administrators have the ability to manage the entire technology stack, including server resources as the organization requires. CloudJumper also integrates billing into the administrator’s interface to streamline client management and administration.
