Tech Data Corp. has forged an agreement with BlueCat Networks, a provider of enterprise Domain Name System (DNS) technology, to offer network and security teams in the U.S. and Canada greater visibility and control of internal networks.
BlueCat’s Enterprise DNS platform centralizes, processes, and analyzes DNS data to provide organizations with the critical visibility and control capabilities they need to better protect and more efficiently operate their networks, according to Alex Ryals, vice president of security solutions at Tech Data.
“Our customers need powerful tools to efficiently administer critical network infrastructure, manage cyber risk and ensure compliance,” said Ryals in a press statement. “BlueCat’s Enterprise DNS platform improves control and compliance across networks, enabling organizations to centralize and automate DNS services for security and operational efficiency.”
BlueCat is designed to reduce complexity and simplify DNS management across environments by centralizing traditionally siloed datasets. The goal is to equip busy network and security teams with a “single source of truth” they can leverage for protective and operational purposes. According to Tech Data, cloud, automation, and cybersecurity initiatives can all draw on BlueCat’s solutions, which work with existing firewalls, security information and event management (SIEM) tools, automation platforms, and most major cloud environments.
“Tech Data’s experts know how to uncover and elevate differentiated technology solutions in a crowded marketplace,” said BlueCat CEO Michael Harris in prepared remarks. “We look forward to gaining their insights as we work together to expand our DNS offering to support their customers by providing a simplified approach to the challenges associated with day-to-day network operations such as automation, cybersecurity and cloud migration.”
BlueCat is the latest member of Tech Data’s steadily expanding collection of security vendor partners. The distributor announced an agreement to make†privileged access management services from Centrify available to its resellers two weeks ago.
