D&H Distributing Co. has added Dropbox Business to the roster of software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings available via its Cloud Marketplace.
The new offering gives partners of the Harrisburg, Pa.-based company another option for generating recurring commissions selling cloud solutions to their customers.
Dropbox Business enhances the market-leading consumer edition of San Francisco-based Dropbox Inc.‘s file sync and share solution with added security, scalability, and collaboration functionality. At present, Dropbox says, the system is used by some 300,000 work teams worldwide.
“Dropbox Business creates a central, effective workspace for business teams to accommodate the fluid collaboration that the modern, mobile-friendly office environment demands,” said Ryan Flynn, D&H’s senior sales manager for cloud and applications, in a press statement. “We’re excited to include this valuable platform as part of our Cloud Marketplace menu of services. With this addition, our resellers can deliver a comprehensive, productive ecosystem of services, increasing their monthly annuity profits and delivering unequivocal value to their end-users.”
Introduced two years ago, D&H’s Cloud Marketplace contains an expanding catalog of online solutions in categories such as data storage, backup, security, and web hosting. Vendors with products among those listings include Microsoft, BitTitan Inc., PlumChoice Inc., and Intermedia. In March, the last of those companies became D&H’s preferred unified communications-as-a-service provider.
“D&H is aligned with Dropbox and its channel program, which delivers value to small business resellers,” said Matt Kane, Dropbox’s director of channel sales and partnerships in prepared remarks. “Dropbox Business is a powerful collaboration platform that helps these resellers take advantage of integrations with Microsoft, and other best-of-breed platforms. By combining automated D&H transactions with Dropbox Business and accepting manual POs, we’re enabling D&H partners to do more with less overhead.”
Helping partners meet rising demand for hybrid cloud solutions combining SaaS products with on-premises systems is one element of a multi-pronged effort by D&H to adapt to changing market conditions. Others include its Solutions & Services program, which is designed to help channel pros combine stand-alone products into end-to-end solution offerings, and its device-as-a-service program, which offers lease-like terms on desktops, notebooks, and tablets.
