Ivanti, the company that unifies IT to better manage and secure the digital workplace, has announced that Ivanti Patch for SCCM, powered by Shavlik, will support an integration with multiple vulnerability management solutions. This vendor-agnostic support bridges the gap between Security and Operations teams and automates their ability to rapidly find, prioritize, and patch system vulnerabilities, regardless of the vulnerability management solution being used.†
Addressing the quickly growing number of security alerts issued every day can be a challenge for Security and Operations teams, who often operate in silos. By automating the vulnerability assessment and patching process, Ivanti Patch for SCCM enables organizations to streamline remediation actions between departments while limiting threat risk.
“The lag between identifying security vulnerabilities and deploying the software updates to fix them can put companies critically at risk. It’s in that window of time that an attacker can gain a foothold to access sensitive data,” said†Chris Goettl, Director of Product Management, Security, Ivanti. “With Ivanti Patch for SCCM we are driving down the time, cost, and consequences of vulnerability remediation by integrating vulnerability scanning – from any vendor – and patch management into a holistic, automated solution.”
Ivanti Patch for SCCM enables organizations to easily patch third-party applications from the SCCM console with no additional infrastructure or training. Automatically acting on a vulnerability assessment from any vendor – including Rapid 7, Tenable, Qualys, BeyondTrust and more – the Ivanti solution discovers patches that relate to the identified Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) and builds a patch group of updates that can be quickly approved for deployment and remediation.
The new vendor-agnostic support for vulnerability management solutions will be generally available with Ivanti Patch for SCCM 2.4 Update 2, which will be released at the end of†October 2018.
