In what it plans to make a routine, quarterly part of how it does business going forward, managed services software and hardware maker Datto Inc. has shipped an updated release of its Autotask PSA solution.
Key enhancements in version 2018.2 include a new feature enabling technicians to request time off in advance for specific dates and hours, which allows service managers to delegate tasks only to staff available for new assignments.
10 new “quick edit” fields on the time entry screen, including Queue and Due Date, will help technicians collaborate on tickets more easily, Datto says, by enabling them to share more information with one another.
A redesigned client portal homepage, meanwhile, lists information about tickets, projects, and other topics in more graphical, readable formats. Customers can now utilize shortened, “friendly” URLs to access their homepage as well.
Finally, new contract visibility options enable MSPs to control whether employees and individual end users have access to no information, limited information, or complete details about service contracts.
Datto stated its intention to update Autotask PSA quarterly in June, during its annual DattoCon conference in Austin, Texas.
“This summer, we promised to deliver more innovation, more frequently for Autotask PSA, so we’ve released our second update in just three months,” said Datto CEO Austin McChord, in prepared remarks. “We’re excited to be able to deliver on the number one feature request from our partner base with this release, designed for better staffing and resource allocation, and we’re going to continue to listen and innovate as we work to improve the operations and efficiency of our partners.”
Autotask 2018.2 is available now in North America and selected other regions globally.
