Managed services software maker Atera Networks Ltd. has extended its alliance with Webroot Inc. to include the security vendor’s DNS protection product.
Headquartered in New York City, Atera offers an integrated, cloud-based IT automation suite that combines RMM and PSA software with remote access and online backup functionality. Today’s announcement makes Webroot’s SecureAnywhere DNS Protection offering an optional add-on to the Atera platform.
Introduced in February, SecureAnywhere DNS Protection prevents users from accessing malicious websites, based on web classification, web reputation, and IP reputation data from Webroot’s BrightCloud Threat Intelligence service.
“Securing data for MSPs is a top priority,” said Atera CEO Gil Pekelman in a press statement. “Global cyberattacks and ransomware are running rampant, prompting MSPs to find better cybersecurity measures and solutions to protect their customers from an unwanted data breach. With Atera and Webroot, MSPs will be able to stop threats before they reach networks or users with proactive web security.”
Atera users have had access to Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection offering since September of last year.
“Cybersecurity risks are only going to increase, and businesses must be on their front foot when looking to defend themselves,” said Charlie Tomeo, vice president of worldwide business sales at Webroot, in today’s press release. “By using security technologies to defend devices at the most basic level of internet communication, businesses can significantly reduce the risk they run of succumbing to cyberattack. This new partnership with Atera will provide a powerful tool for MSPs looking to effectively and efficiently manage security.”
Atera is not the only managed services software maker Webroot partners with. NinjaMSP’s RMM solution has integrated with SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection since May 2016, and with SecureAnywhere DNS Protection since August.
