Datto Inc. has named Mary Kay Caricato (pictured) its new chief people officer.
Her responsibilities will include perpetuating the Norwalk, Conn.-based BDR vendor’s corporate culture as it enters new geographies and adds new technologies. She will also spearhead Datto’s talent development efforts and oversee its compensation and competitive benefits program, which includes education reimbursement, 16 weeks paid maternity or paternity leave, and “free lunch Fridays.”
Caricato will report to Austin McChord, Datto’s founder and CEO.
“Datto has expanded quickly since 2007 to more than 800 employees across North America, EMEA, and more recently APAC,” said McChord in a press statement. “As chief people officer, Mary Kay will play a vital role in ensuring that both existing and new employees share Datto’s vision for developing an inclusive, dynamic, and industry-leading team.”
A 15-year HR veteran, Caricato most recently served as chief human resources officer for IntegraMed Fertility, a Purchase, N.Y.-based network of North American fertility practices. She previously worked at senior levels for global alcoholic beverage maker Diageo for over a decade. Caricato holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
“We want our longest-standing team members to be able to retain the feeling of working for the same company they joined when we were only 20 people, while ensuring that more recent additions to the company feel like they are an integral part of Datto’s unique culture,” said Caricato in today’s press release. “As we continue to grow, I look forward to working with our employees to execute on the company’s vision across the globe, making us a cohesive, dynamic team.”
Caricato is but the latest in a recent series of additions to Datto’s senior leadership ranks. In December, the company appointed Lo√Øc Vienne its new CIO and promoted Emily Glass from vice president of customer experience to customer experience officer.
2 weeks ago, meanwhile, Datto hired John Tippett to manage the product group responsible for its recently introduced networking product line.
The North American edition of Datto’s annual DattoCon partner event takes place next week in Denver.
