ConnectWise has introduced a free edition of its ConnectWise Control remote access solution.
Called ConnectWise Control Free, the new offering allows a single technician to connect with one end user at a time via up to 3 access agents. Its release was announced in conjunction with the Tampa, Fla.-based managed services software maker’s second annual IT Nation Europe partner event, which is currently taking place in London.
ConnectWise Control Free joins 3 existing editions of the product, all of which are white-label solutions that MSPs can run under their own brand. The next step up is ConnectWise Control One, a single-user solution with up to 10 access agents plus remote meeting, file transfer, auditing, and customization options.
ConnectWise Control Standard is a multi-technician option with unlimited agents and support for up to 3 concurrent end user sessions per administrator. It also comes with expanded chat capabilities, support for mobile devices, a command line interface, and Wake-on-LAN functionality for remotely starting idle end points.
The top-of-the-line premium edition of ConnectWise Control allows up to 10 simultaneous end user sessions, and includes a video auditing feature for recording support sessions. ConnectWise Control Free users receive a 14-day trial subscription to ConnectWise Control Premium at no additional cost.
Adding a free, entry-level version of ConnectWise Control offers small IT providers and newcomers to managed services a remote control tool they can get started with and then scale as their business grows and requirements become more complex, according to Jeff Bishop (pictured), general manager of the ConnectWise Control product group.
“ConnectWise Control Free was designed to provide small IT service providers a solution that can expand with their needs,” he said in emailed remarks to ChannelPro. “Whether a company is established or just starting out, its IT technicians need a solution that provides a great balance of security, performance, and functionality within a brandable platform that can scale as the business grows.”
ConnectWise Control was known as ScreenConnect until ConnectWise rolled out new names for all of the products in its managed services software suite last November. The solution is currently used by over 15,000 companies worldwide.
