Tech Data Corp. has added three new as-a-service offerings to its Avnet Cloud Marketplace.
That site is operated by Clearwater, Fla.-based Tech Data’s Technology Solutions unit, formerly known as Avnet Technology Solutions. Tech Data completed its $2.6 billion acquisition of Avnet Technology Solutions in February.
The first of the new cloud solutions now available to resellers in the U.S. and Canada is DR Express, a disaster recovery-as-a-service platform from HotLink Corp., of Santa Clara, Calif., that backs up virtual machines powered by VMware Inc.‘s vCenter platform and restores them automatically onsite or in the Amazon Web Services cloud during service outages.
ParkMyCloud, the second of the newly added services, lets administrators temporarily shut off Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure resources overnight or during other pre-scheduled intervals when they’re not required. ParkMyCloud Inc., the system’s Dulles, Va.-based creator, says the service can trim public cloud bills by up to 60 percent.
The third and final addition to the Avnet Cloud Marketplace is a storage-as-a-service solution from Zadara Storage Inc., of Irvine, Calif. Utilizing hosted x86 servers, the system blends “enterprise-grade” performance and reliability with cloud computing’s pay-as-you-go flexibility and non-disruptive scalability.
“These suppliers offer game-changing products that will empower our partners with an exciting new set of resources and tools, allowing them to quickly onboard new cloud offerings and deliver the solutions their customers are demanding,” said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president of Tech Data Cloud for the Americas, in a press release. “The Cloud Marketplace, or ACM, continues to power Technology Solutions’ partner ecosystem with an easy and effective way to expand and deliver their industry-leading cloud solutions directly to their customers.”
The latest newcomers to Tech Data’s cloud portfolio arrive just days after the distributor gave resellers access to an immersive online training resource operated by Technology Solutions, and just under 2 months since it began offering mobile data services from DataXoom, of Walnut Creek, Calif., to its partners in the U.S.
