Reseller partners of Tech Data Corp. now have access to an immersive cloud-based training solution that the Clearwater, Fla.-based distributor acquired through its purchase of Avnet Inc.‘s Technology Solutions group.
Called the Individual Multimedia Video Presence (iMVP) learning environment, the virtual classroom system uses bi-directional, high-resolution video connections to deliver live online technical education courses in which students can interact with instructors or each other while participating in hands-on labs and collaborative exercises. The system runs on smartphone, tablets, and both desktop and laptop PCs.
“While many online learning environments can leave students longing for closer interaction with peers and instructors, iMVP offers a remarkably interactive way to experience premium training with certified instructors without the hassle of leaving their homes or offices,” said Hees Ham, vice president of North American education services for what Tech Data now officially refers to as its Technology Solutions business, in a press statement. “Our commitment to the IT channel community, along with our authorization to deliver supplier-sanctioned courses, ensures that our partners receive premium training and certification experiences.”
iMVP is owned and operated by ExitCertified, an education services division of Technology Solutions. According to Tech Data, ExitCertified has trained over 10,000 students in 67 countries via iMVP over the past five years.
