Ooma Inc. has announced the addition of Ooma Internet Security powered by Zscaler to its VoIP platform. The cloud-based internet security service provides security and threat detection by blocking viruses, malware, and phishing attempts triggered by browsing the Internet. It also provides users the choice to block many categories of unwanted web content.
“As part of our mission to create robust communications experiences, we are leveraging our cloud-based platform to enhance other connected services and devices in the home,” says Eric Stang, CEO of Ooma. “Internet security is a logical extension to our Ooma phone service, giving families affordable, powerful protection from threats for an unlimited number of devices.”
Delivered using Zscaler’s DNS-based cloud security platform, the service provides up-to-date protection from internet threats throughout the home without the need to manage individual devices. Ooma Internet Security protects any device that accesses the web from the home network, including Mac and PC computers as well as iOS and Android tablets and mobile phones.
Ooma Internet Security is a firmware upgrade available to Ooma Telo users in the United States and Canada. Pricing is $5.99 per month for Basic customers and $3.99 per month for Ooma Premier customers. For more information, visit www.ooma.com/telo/home-internet-security.
