Axcient Announces Linux Support and Enhanced Orchestration for Fusion

Cloud-Converged IT Resilience Platform Now Protects Critical Linux Servers.

November 17, 2016 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Axcient, the industry-recognized leader in Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), today announced expanded support for Linux virtual machines on its Axcient Fusion platform, enabling IT teams to protect their critical Linux-based applications with sub-hour Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs).

“Linux is one of the most popular server operating systems, and we’re pleased to be able to offer enterprise-grade IT resilience and agility to Linux users at a fraction of the cost of legacy disaster recovery and data protection solutions,” said Axcient CEO Justin Moore. “With Linux powering everything from web servers and critical databases to modern applications such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence, it is more important than ever to keep systems resilient and secure. With Fusion, Linux users can keep the business running despite the array of hacks and potential disasters threatening the average company.”

Now supporting Linux distributions, including Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS and Oracle, as well as multiple versions of Microsoft Windows Server, Axcient Fusion also includes the following major enhancements:

Advanced orchestration: Preconfigured Runbooks automate failover and recovery procedures to drastically reduce the time it takes to access services and applications in the cloud
Protection from denial of service (DoS) attacks: Enhanced security features to protect against DoS attacks for applications running in the Axcient Cloud
User interface enhancements: Simplified and optimized user experience with new reporting, lifecycle management and automation features
Active redundancy: High availability delivers zero downtime and no impact to RPOs and RTOs for software updates and upgrades
In the coming months, Axcient will also be adding self-service failback, which enables administrators to failback applications from the cloud to their on-premise production environments with a single click.
