Samsung’s New Solution Aims to Make Mobile Collaboration Simple for SMBs

Samsung Communication Manager Compact provides an all-in-one IP communications foundation for SMBs to manage needs of an increasingly mobile workforce.

Samsung Electronics America Inc. has introduced the Samsung Communication Manager Compact (SCM Compact), an all-in-one IP communications solution designed to simplify mobile management for SMBs.

“Small and medium-sized businesses are evolving their infrastructure to gain the sophisticated collaboration technologies that have typically only been available to their larger competitors,” says John D’Annunzio, general manager of Samsung Wireless Enterprise. “The SCM Compact was built specifically with SMB owners in mind, providing a mobile communications platform that prioritizes ease-of-use, security, and cost-savings.”

With support for up to 512 users, the SCM Compact features Samsung’s mobile technology that eliminates the boundaries between wired, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks, including:

  • Smart Handover – The solution can handover smartphone calls from cellular networks to a business’ internal Wi-Fi network (and vice versa) without call disruption.
  • WeVoIP – When paired with the company’s WeVoIP mobile application, the SCM Compact enables mobile workers to turn their smartphone into a fully-enabled business phone using their business extension line and maintaining all key deskphone functions, including conferencing, call transfer, and call recording.

Embedded capabilities of the SCM Compact solution include:

  • Built-in Session Border Controller (SBC) – Delivers secure SIP communications by eliminating the need for remote workers to dial into their network through a VPN, and keeping IP addresses private while protecting networks from DDoS attacks.
  • Embedded API Server for Custom Apps – This enables support for third party APIs, so SMBs can deploy and integrate a variety of business applications, such as trading systems, databases, or Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • Survivable Branch Gateway for 24/7 Operations – If IP connections are lost between a data center and remote offices due to a network failure, the SCM Compact can sustain SIP communications for continuous routing of local gateway traffic, and delivery of voice and telephony functionality. Also, businesses can hot swap option cards without system shutdowns.

The SCM Compact is available through Samsung’s authorized partners. To learn more, visit†http://www.samsung.com/us/business/business-communication-systems/smb-communication-solutions.
