ITEX 2016, the office document technology and services industry premier event, wrapped up last week in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. More than a thousand office dealers, MSPs, VARs, system integrators, IT professionals, and resellers gathered for the three-day event at the Broward County Convention Center to develop new business strategies, network, understand market changes, and stay informed on convergent technology.
With the theme “Waves of Change, Oceans of Opportunity,” the conference featured an informative pre-show executive workshop, a revamped educational conference program produced by InfoTrends, and access to a range of technologies and solutions on the expo floor by over 100 vendors.
ITEX attendees heard from several keynote speakers, including:
- Cathy Lewis, CMP and EVP, 3D Systems – Lewis addressed the crowd on next generation 3D technologies. She stressed that whether you believe 3D printing is hype or reality – get in the game now before your competitors do.
- Laura Blackmer, SVP, sales, Sharp Imaging and Information Systems of America, spoke on “Millennials and Diversity – Building a 2020 Workforce.” In this keynote, Blackmer spoke on the massive shift in our workforce as aging baby boomers are retiring, more women than men are graduating from college, and post graduate programs and technology has changed how Gen Y and millennials work and expect to work.
- Jeff Hayes, managing director of content, InfoTrends – In his keynote session, “US Office Technology Outlook,” Hayes provided a state of the industry review of market trends and the office technology channel including insights from interviews with dealers.
- David Ramos, director of channel strategy, InfoTrends – Ramos spoke on the “State of the Independent Office Equipment Dealer Channel,” giving an in-depth breakdown of the topics driving change across the independent dealer channel landscape backed by findings from his 2016 national dealer survey.
Additionally, the event delivered over 30 sessions covering the areas of print and managed services, workflow and solutions, sales and marketing, and data-driven business. Session tracks included: “The Revenue Opportunities in Print,” “Dealer Opportunities in 3D Printing,” “Data Driven Opportunities for the Modern Dealer,” “SMB in the Cloud: Managed Services 2.0,” “The Internet of Printers,” and more.
