Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) provider ProfitBricks has announced the results of a survey the company conducted at IT Nation in November 2015, which predicted that high availability, disaster recovery, and recurring revenue will be the top opportunities for MSPs in 2016.
For this survey, MSPs and VARs were asked how they see the cloud transforming their channel business in 2016. More than 17 percent of MSPs surveyed for this study reported “high availability” as being the most important opportunity when it comes to cloud computing in the coming year. By ensuring applications will always be available despite any application or server level failure, their customers can continue business as usual without interruption. Similarly, disaster recovery was cited by 15 percent of MSPs as being the most important cloud computing consideration in 2016, followed by recurring revenue at 14 percent as one of the biggest advantages.
“The results of this survey confirmed what we’ve been seeing emerge for some time now,” comments Achim Weiss, CEO and co-founder of ProfitBricks. “The channel is moving to the cloud at an unprecedented rate, and MSPs now have the unique opportunity to increase revenue and effectiveness if they offer services that only the cloud enables them to do. It’s clear that 2016 will be a year where the channel embraces the opportunities that cloud computing presents for augmenting their offerings and increasing business value.”
This survey was conducted by ProfitBricks in written form with a sample size of 2,000 MSPs over the course of a three-day period.
To continue this discussion of the survey results, The 2112 Group’s Larry Walsh will be joining ProfitBricks on January 20, 2016, for a webinar on how MSPs can make the most of cloud infrastructure opportunities and profit from the cloud transition. Registration for the upcoming webinar is available here.
