OCZ Storage Solutions, a Toshiba company and a manufacturer of high performance client and enterprise solid-state storage products, has revealed that its Z-Drive 6000 SSD has achieved VMware Ready status. This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process, Z-Drive 6000 SSD has attained VMware’s highest level of endorsement.
“The NVMe SSD market is poised for burgeoning growth as it provides an efficient and high-performance storage interface between flash and the processor,” says Bert Mauricio, director, Strategic Alliances, OCZ Storage Solutions. “By using our Z-Drive 6000 NVMe with VMware vSphere, customers can not only dramatically boost the number of random I/O operations per second that an enterprise system can process, which provides reductions in I/O latency responses, but can also deliver large capacities, dual port capabilities, perform hot-swapping of 2.5-inch drives, and support for add-in card form factors that position this series as very high performing and robust for this class of products.”
“We are pleased that OCZ Storage Solution’s Z-Drive 6000 SSD qualifies for the VMware Ready logo, signifying to customers that it has met specific VMware interoperability standards and it works effectively with VMware infrastructure, which will speed time to value within customer environments,” says Howard Hall, senior director, Global Technology Partner Organization, VMware.
