Intel has unveiled the Intel Solid State Drive DC P3608 Series, its highest performing SSD built to handle the workload demands of data centers.
The Intel SSD DC P3608 Series boasts high-performance and low latency with NVMe and eight lanes of PCIe 3.0 to eliminate bottlenecks in HPC workflows, accelerate databases, and gain business insights through real time analytics. When paired with multi-core Intel Xeon processors, says Intel, the SSD’s NVMe dual controller architecture enables efficient scalability, evenly distributing I/O across the PCIe 3.0 x8 link to obtain data transfers of over 5GB per second and up to 850,000 random read IOPS.
The new SSD series is available in capacities of 1.6TB, 3.2TB, and 4TB in a single PCIe 3.0 x8 low-profile add-in card.
