The 2015 Adtran Broadband & Business Solutions Summit and the Adtran Connect Press & Analyst Event kicked off yesterday at Adtran headquarters in Huntsville, Ala. The event features presentations, customer testimonials, and company updates, including portfolio-wide enhancements and the new Virtual Network Function solution suite.
Adtran Inc. is a global provider of networking and communications equipment. Adtran’s products enable voice, data, video, and Internet communications across a variety of network infrastructures.
Fulfilling its Future Network State vision, the just-announced portfolio-wide enhancements are based on both software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) open architectures. Adtran is extending the capabilities of its broadband, enterprise and Wi-Fi access portfolio by supporting cloud-controlled network programmability and self-activated cloud-delivery. With these enhancements, service providers are well positioned for the transition to virtualization while meeting their access network priorities, according to the company.
The Virtual Network Function (VNF) solution suite empowers telecom and cable service providers to seamlessly transition from embedded customer premises equipment (CPE) solutions to virtualized, software-based networks without compromising performance. The VNF suite is built on Adtran’s networking application software and offers the same feature set and interoperability found in ADTRAN’s advanced multiservice, multifunctional networking solutions deployed in small businesses around the world.
Yesterday Senior Vice President of Technology and Strategy Jay Wilson opened the event with his “Bringing the World Together” presentation, followed by Adtran AVP, Carrier Strategy, Robert Conger on “Planning Next-Generation Networks.”
