PSA Security Network has introduced its newest education initiative focused on cybersecurity in the physical security industry. The comprehensive program will provide the knowledge, skills and tools security integrators need to identify, assess, and monitor cybersecurity threats.†
According to PSA, the program benefits from the direction of an executive advisory council whose members represent practice areas including physical security manufacturers, integrators, IT executives, security consultants and engineers, cybersecurity experts and cyber law. The program will anchor on two educational assemblies to be held in January and May 2015.
The Cybersecurity Congress is scheduled for Jan. 20-21 in Westminster, Colo., and is being produced in collaboration with exclusive media partner Security Sales & Integration. This will be a two-day gathering of senior leaders in the IT and physical security industries where they will learn about risks and liabilities they face, how to establish policies to defend against or respond to threats, and how to adopt security control standards for their organization.
The PSA Cybersecurity Congress at TEC is set for May 7-8, also in Westminster, Colo. This will be a two-day training track, held during the TEC conference, designed for multiple roles in the physical security and IT disciplines. Attendees will learn how to identify cybersecurity threats, how to implement their company’s security controls according to their policy, and their roles and responsibilities in response to a cybersecurity threat or breach.
