We had a lot of fun yesterday and I hope everyone left the Solutions Exchange Hall Crawl with a heavy swag bag. Day Three at VMworld promises to be no less exciting, so without further ado, let’s get into today’s Dispatch.
In case you missed my tips from yesterday, check it out here. Hit the jump for a Day Two news recap and my recommendations on what you shouldn’t miss on Day Three of VMworld 2014.
Day Two Recap
Hall D was abuzz Tuesday with some big announcements from our End-User Computing division. It’s time to wave goodbye to status-quo EUC, but let’s reflect on a few broad strokes first.
- What happens when VMware, NVIDIA, and Google join forces to redefine cloud desktops? Users get choice without compromise: from AutoCAD to MS Office—any Windows app delivered on demand to any Tegra K1-powered Chromebook.
- The excitement around vCloud Air, the industry’s first and only enterprise-grade Hybrid Cloud is phenomenal, and you can bet the momentum will carry it straight to ubiquity. As Raghu said, “The future is here, it’s just not evenly distributed yet.”
- One of the biggest stories out of Moscone Tuesday was the rollout of VMware Workspace Suite. A unified end-user experience across mobile and desktop isn’t just a talking point anymore—it’s a product, and it’s available right now.
For those of you who didn’t watch the keynote live, the General Session replay is available here.
Customer Innovation Awards
Back in July, we began accepting submissions for the VMware Innovation Awards and today, we’re thrilled to announce the winners. Each award recognizes bleeding-edge innovation through the use of VMware solutions, and we celebrate each winner for their indelible impact on our ecosystem.†
VMworld Party
Each year, the VMworld Party gets a little bigger and better. Join us at the Yerba Buena Gardens this evening for a night to be remembered.
Enjoy the food, stay for the microbrews. Our renowned acoustic guitarist will be performing in the East Garden off 3rd street and at 8:30, our headlining act, The Black Keys, will take the stage in Hall D.
We hope to see you there!
