IceWarp Integrates with Cisco Business Edition 3000

The new Linux-based combo enables organizations to use Cisco voice communication and IceWarp’s messaging capabilities in one package.

Messaging solutions provider IceWarp has achieved integration with Cisco Business Edition 3000. The new Linux-based combo enables organizations to use Cisco voice communication and IceWarp’s messaging capabilities in one package that eliminates the need for third-party applications.

“In this package, IceWarp Messaging server, our flagship product, and Cisco BE3000 are connected on the server level,” explains IceWarp president Ladislav Goc.

The BE3000 and IceWarp accounts are synchronized, Goc explains. “Now users get both Cisco’s voice and video communication capabilities as well as a wide range of IceWarp’s messaging features.” These include email, instant messaging, mobile devices synchronization, groupware, anti-spam, and anti-virus.

The IceWarp for BE3000 project was completed shortly after IceWarp had been accepted into Cisco Developer Network and got an opportunity to develop solutions that could be embedded into a wide range of Cisco products. IceWarp for BE6000 development project started late September and will be ready for Beta testing in few months.

An email solutions provider and a viable Microsoft Exchange alternative, IceWarp (formerly Merak Mail Server) is deployed in more than 20,000 organizations and supports over 50 million users.

Next Steps

According to Goc, IceWarp’s next goal is to achieve a deeper integration with Cisco Business Edition 6000. “IceWarp will run on BE6000 Linux-based VMware environment,” he says. “We strongly believe IceWarp will not only fully replace Microsoft Exchange as an add-on to BE 6000, but will also deliver more benefits to Cisco customers.”
