The GammaTech Computer Corp. high-end, ruggedized Durabook TA10 is one tough tablet. But it’s not just another tablet on steroids. Under that tough exterior is an Intel Ivy Bridge i3-3217UE or i7-3517UE processor for high performance and low power consumption, along with a 2.5-inch hard disk drive offering storage sizes of 320GB, 500GB, or 750GB. Also available is an optional 64GB or 128GB mSATA solid-state drive.
Top that off with an ultra-high brightness 10.4-inch LCD display with LED backlight, resistive multitouch panel with tempered glass, sunlight-readable panel, digitizer with active stylus, Bluetooth and WiFi wireless connectivity, and an optional internal GPS function and you have a tablet worthy of a trip to Alaska’s Pavlof Volcano.
TPM 1.2 data security technology, a Kensington lock connector, and Intel anti-theft technology (AT) or Computrace asset management and data protection are onboard to keep data safe. Also available is a FIPS 201 fingerprint scanner for digital imaging of fingerprint patterns. To help identify and track the tablet, the TA10 also comes with a UHF RFID reader. Two, six-cell battery packs keep the Durabook going while work still needs to be done.
If that’s not enough, the TA10 meets MIL-STD 810G 514.6 for shock resistance; IP65 for dust/spill resistance; MIL-STD 810G 509.5 for salt/fog protection; and withstands multiple 5-foot drops unto 2-inch plywood set over concrete.
With a solid set of features, the Durabook TA10 can easily find a home in construction, manufacturing, the military, public safety, transportation and distribution, and utility.
