Updating your graphics card is like giving your old PC a good kick in the pants. It can make for a smoother gaming system overall, as well as keep the setup from running too hard and too hot. ASUS is heating up the graphics card market with its latest Radeon HD7790-DC2OC-1GD5 graphics card.
The latest in the ASUS line promises better performance via a 1075MHz GPU and the company’s own DirectCU II thermal innovation. It also promises to run 20 percent cooler than other HD 7790 designs, for better overclocking. All of that magic happens because of something called GPU Tweak, a user-friendly graphics card tuning utility that also offers real-time detailed multi-parameter info.
Other features include DirectX 11.1 gaming, 28nm GPU technology, 1GB of GDDR5 memory, and support for 1080p. It also has CrossFire X support, AMD Eyefinity for using across six displays, and AMD HD3D for 3D content. As far as connections go, there are plenty of options, including two DVI, one DisplayPort, and one HDMI port.
“The ASUS HD7790-DCU2 OC Graphics Card has a dual-fan direct CUII thermal design that ensures 20 percent cooler and quieter performance,” says Vinay Shetty, country head for component business in ASUS India. “This upper mid-range graphics card also delivers good gaming and multimedia performance. ASUS once again presents a superb graphics card for all tech enthusiasts.”
The HD7790-DC2OC-1GD5 is selling now for $149.99, which includes a 3-year warranty.
