D&H Distributing is revitalizing its offerings for system builders. The distributor is adding new tools, promotions, products, and training vehicles to help resellers profit from custom computer designs in a variety of formats. This includes a special February Systems Integrator Focus Month promotion, in which integrators can win a series of American Express Gift cards. D&H customers that purchase $5,000 worth of merchandise this month from among 20 participating Focus Month manufacturers, such as ASUS, APC, Samsung, and Western Digital, will be eligible to win one of 16 Amex gift cards worth between $100 and $500.
D&H has compiled an array of new resources to help bolster its position as the system builder destination for the channel. The company has added new system builder products to its linecard, such as the Loop LP-2150 Thin Mini ITX chassis, which allows resellers to create space-saving, do-it-yourself, All-in-One computer systems. The Loop’s ultra-slim chassis perfectly accommodates Intel’s thin mini-ITX motherboards, low-wattage processors, and high-efficiency solid state drives. The AIO format is growing in popularity as the desktop continues to evolve, offering a compact but powerful workstation, in both touchscreen and non-touchscreen models – without a tower. A custom AIO build is fairly similar to a custom PC build, says the distributor, allowing for a smooth transition for networking-based integrators.
Intel is working with D&H to help familiarize VARs with the “DIY” All-in-One build opportunity. Resellers can visit the dandh.com Intel Mini-site to access the “Evolution of the System Build” brochure, which also features the Intel “NUC” (Next Unit of Computing) compact deskboard. The NUC unit packs a 3rd generation Intel Core i3 processor into a 4x4x2-inch format, establishing the keystone for a space-saving desktop. Its full-fledged CPU handles up to 16GB of RAM to accommodate the same graphics as Intel’s mainstream desktop boards.
In addition, D&H’s Solutions Lab was inspired by the live custom server workshops offered at many D&H trade events. The Lab now provides up-close, granular instruction on individual builds, accompanied by bills of material, with macro camera angles that bring attendees inside the chassis of a machine. These presentations afford a range of resellers the kind of detailed, step-by-step tutelage that is usually only attainable through a live presentation.
D&H offers system integrators a free, customizable sales brochure, “The Benefits of Custom Designed Systems for Your Business,” via its Partner Services marketing resource library. The template, new as of Q4 2012, can help system builders educate their end-user customers on how custom designs can better serve their organizations. D&H’s Partner Services materials are free of charge and allow VARs to add their own branded messaging.
Resellers can visit dandh.com throughout the year to register for upcoming events or to stream system builder content from 2012, including a small-form-factor webcast.
