From its 2013 International CES booth, wireless networking hardware innovator TRENDnet made a number of product announcements last week. Among them was the AC1200 Dual Band Wireless USB 3.0 Adapter (model TEW-805UB). The wireless adapter features a USB 3.0 port to maintain performance wireless transmissions to Windows-based laptops and desktops.
TRENDnet’s dual band TEW-805UB can connect to two different wireless networks – a Wireless AC network or a Wireless N network. It supports Wireless AC speeds of up to 867 Mbps and Wireless N speeds of up to 300 Mbps. The adapter can also connect to older legacy Wireless G networks.
The adapter is designed to sport a quick and intuitive installation process takes.
In addition, its adapter utility stores multiple network passwords and prioritizes network connections. A Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button connects the adapter to a wireless network at the touch of the button.
“The use of the USB 3.0 port with our AC1200 Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter simply makes senses,” says TRENDnet’s director of global marketing Zak Wood. “The TEW-805UB’s USB port will not bottleneck record Wireless AC speeds realized by the adapter.”
The TEW-805UB is slated to be generally available in April 2013. It will carry a MSRP of $69.99.
