IT distributor Tech Data Corp. has entered into a partnership with cloud security and virtualization innovator Trend Micro Inc. that will integrate Trend Micro’s Licensing Management Platform (LMP) into Tech Data’s Solutions Store.
Trend Micro’s LMP is a designated application for managed service providers (MSP) designed to enable Trend Micro MSP resellers direct software license provisioning control for cloud-based SaaS security products. Trend Micro and Tech Data will pilot this integration with a select group of MSP partners using Trend Micro’s LMP and Tech Data’s Solutions Store, which provides access to the Tech Data’s recurring and metered billing and provisioning system powered by StreamOne.
“This integration of systems will significantly benefit our reseller partners because we will be able to provide accurate and consolidated billing across all solutions provisioned through Tech Data and Trend Micro,” says Bharath Natarajan, Tech Data’s director of product marketing, TDCloud and Software Services. “Once the implementation between the Solutions Store and Licensing Management Platform is extended to all of our resellers, they will no longer have to worry about disparities in billing and license management, ultimately freeing them up to focus more on their customers’ security needs.”
For Trend Micro’s part, Gil Morales, the company’s director of channel sales, says his company is “pleased to reach the pilot and launch phase of this sophisticated systems integration.”
Morales adds, “With tight integration of our systems, Tech Data’s MSP resellers will have the ability to self-provision Trend Micro SaaS security products and remove the overhead associated with user counts and billing.”
The final implementation of Trend Micro’s MPS License Platform with Tech Data’s Solutions Store is scheduled for April 2013.
