Quest Software, an IT management provider, has launched NetVault Extended Architecture (XA), a new platform unifying its data protection strategies. Designed to align backup and recovery directly to service continuity needs, NetVault XA allows administrators to organize, schedule, view, and manage backups based on specific business and technology services.
While NetVault XA gives administrators the ability to set specific recovery time and recovery point objectives, regardless of environment, NetVault XA also delivers a customized experience for administrators across multiple roles. With NetVault XA, DBAs, application admins, and VMware admins have access to customized view an workflows that map directly to specific SLAs.
Additional features include:
- Security
- SLA validation
- Unified management of on-premise and cloud assets
- Role-based reporting capabilities
- Anytime, anywhere access
NetVault XA will enable customers to deploy and manage all of the company’s backup and recovery technologies from a single console. NetVault Extended Architecture will be available to customers as a downloadable thin-client at no additional charge.
The first iteration of NetVault XA will be generally available in the second half of 2012, and will be incorporated into the planned releases of NetVault Backup, NetVault SmartDisk, and vRanger.
