HP Converged Cloud will soon be available to service providers looking to deliver hybrid clouds with traditional IT services.
According to Steve Dietch, HP’s vice president of worldwide cloud, the HP converged cloud is “integrated by design” and deliver services usually harbored in traditional IT silos. “It’s going to give customers choice, confidence, and consistency,” he says. Built on open standards, the HP Converged Cloud will support multiple hypervisors, operating systems, and offer partners a new delivery model. “Partners are critical to the converged cloud,” says Dietch. “Whether a VAR, system integrator, or service provider, [partners] are all integral elements of the converged cloud.”
HP has also launched a number of new cloud services. Available to the public starting May 10, HP Cloud Services deliver on public cloud infrastructure and services with business-oriented features. This first generation of public cloud infrastructure and platform services is designed to eliminate the constraints of a closed operating environment and vendor lock-in.
