Telesphere, a unified communications provider, is expanding its private, all-IP network to add new network points of presence (POPs) throughout North America. Telesphere’s network will be expanding to enable scalability, performance, and availability of its UCaaS offering, including multi-location accounts.
Telesphere offers advanced business communications in a hosted environment, including proprietary back-office systems and on-demand online portals. The expansion includes adding or upgrading network POPs in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Portland, Ore., to augment its nationwide network. The POPs are connected with high-bandwidth backhaul connections and form a robust IP MPLS backbone network.
The POPs house routing and switching equipment, connectivity to the Internet and PSTN, and key service components, including Hosted PBX Application Servers, Session Border Controllers and others. Customer locations are connected to the POPs using a variety of access technologies, including Ethernet over fiber, Ethernet over copper, DS3, NxT1, DSL, cable and other mediums.
