Caringo, an object storage software provider, has updated its Caringo Object Storage Platform with version 5.5. Caringo Object Storage Platform 5.5 offers increased service and support functions, reporting and management capabilities, and support for objects up to 4TB.
Made up of CAStor, Content Router, and Cluster Services Node, the Object Storage Platform provides massively scalable storage with automated protection and replication, delivered at cloud prices. Each application was upgraded in version 5.5.
- CAStor is the object storage engine and foundation of the Caringo platform that stores files via chunked encoding. In this update, extended server and storage status reporting via Net-SNMP was added.
- Content Router is Caringo’s rules-based workflow engine for metadata-driven global replication. In version 5.5, support is added for enumeration of named objects, as well as graphical reporting on replication progress, status, and speed.
- Cluster Services Node is a web-based management application that manages the platform components. The new version adds a watchdog feature that automatically restarts failed services, as well as granular control of node-level configuration parameters.
