Nimbus Data Systems, a sustainable storage provider, has launched its FlashPoint Partner Program. Nimbus emphasizes the migration away from hard disk arrays to flash memory technology for primary storage, with products like the Nimbus S-Class. This new partner program will bring Nimbus’ sales model from direct to an entirely channel sales model. †
According to Thomas Isakovich, CEO and founder of Nimbus, the program is designed to be attractive for partners because the product is easy to sell and deploy. “We have an all-inclusive software called the Halo OS,” he says, “but we don’t charge licensing fees for it. Nimbus has a software license model right out of the box, and users get all of the software capabilities.” For Isakovich, moving to a channel sales model was inevitable in the evolution of Nimbus.
“As an emerging company, we have to prove our stuff works, that customers want it, and that here’s a market here,” he says. “We ended up doing it the old fashioned way, which meant engaging with end users directly. Now that we’ve built a critical mass of reputable end users, that’s given the channel confidence in our product.”
Another attractive quality of the Nimbus products is the multiprotocol capability. The Nimbus products can support iSCSI, Fibre Channel, Infiniband, CIFS and NFS all at once, allowing partners to deploy a number of different storage protocols to various customers.
Ideal partners are those working in environments where Nimbus products are well-suited, such as partners offering server virtualization, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases, datawarehousing, eDiscovery, content creation and delivery, and cloud infrastructure.
Nimbus will be hosting business partner webinars over the coming months. For more information, visit http://www.nimbusdata.com.
