Texas Memory Systems, a solid state storage provider, will soon offer the RamSan-720, a Flash storage system that scales to 500TB within a single rack. The RamSan-720 offers 12TB of Flash capacity, 5 GB/s of bandwidth, with no single point of failure. With a standard 8GB Fibre Channel or QDR InfiniBand interface, this new storage system provides extreme SAN performance while dissipating only 300-400 watts.
With TMS 2D Flash RAID technology and redundant components, the RamSan-720 offers system-wide high availability. The 2D Flash RAID technology incorporates chip-level Flash RAID within each Flash module, plus centralized system-level RAID across Flash modules. If a chip-level RAID fails, the system-level RAID across Flash modules will correct the failure. Augmented by patented Variable Stripe RAID (VSR) technology, the chip-level Flash RAID is designed to automatically bypass failed Flash devices.
Other features include:
- Redundant hardware and failover technology
- Hardware-based high availability for lower latency
- Cost savings of up to 80 percent compared to mirrored systems
- Batteries in case of AC power loss
The RamSan-720 will be available at the end of January 2012. For more information, visit http://RamSan.com/Products/RamSan-720.
