Data protection developer QuorumSoft provides solutions for virtualized environments. This week, the company announced new capabilities for restoring individual files from an enhanced backup in a Citrix XenServer virtualized environment.
QuorumSoft’s Alike File Level Restore gives XenServer users instant access to any file stored in an enhanced backup. Alike File Level Restore is designed to reduce the time and complexity often associated with recovering files that have been corrupted or are no longer available in the production environment.
“With Alike File Level Restore, there is no need to install or configure additional software and no temporary storage is required in the file recovery process,” states QuorumSoft in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
“Alike File Level Restore features the convenience and speed of self-service,” says Quorum co-founder and CEO Phil Baskette. “The interface is intuitive, and the process is as quick and easy as copying files on an individual computer.”
With Alike File Level Restore, all backed up files requested by a user are dynamically generated directly from the deduplicated Alike Data Store repository. There is no need to use any temporary storage, according to QuorumSoft.
