Built for travel, the lightweight device sports 200 ANSI lumen brightness and 720p HD-ready video capability.
For use in smaller board rooms and classrooms, the BenQ Joybee GP2 mini projector from BenQ America Corp. will be of interest to SMBs.
BenQ’s GP2 builds upon the success of the popular GP1 projector. The new product features the same black and white housing of its predecessor, but it adds a number of enhancements.
The GP2 features an improved user interface, 720p HD-ready video capability, short-throw projection, an integrated iPhone/iPod dock, and optional three-hour battery pack, and a range of connectivity options.
Based on 3LED illumination and DLP projection technology, the 565-gram, palm-sized GP2 was designed to “offer A/V multimedia on the go,” according to a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
The projector sports simple plug-and-play operation and 200 ANSI lumen brightness for HD-quality presentations to be shared on the fly. Built to travel, the GP2 Projector comes with a carrying case that includes a dedicated pocket for the power adaptor.
The BenQ Joybee GP2 is packed with multimedia connectivity including USB and SD card viewers, a document viewer for Microsoft Office and PDF documents, and mini HDMI for tablets and smartphones. A USB display feature enables users to connect their computers to the mini projector using a USB cable (no driver required) while the USB file transfer function enables them transfer their multimedia files to the unit’s 2GB of on-board memory storage.
In addition, a dedicated iPhone/iPod controls on the GP2 Projector’s included remote control make it easy to play audio through the unit’s built-in 2-W speakers or through external speakers via the Audio Out port.
“By incorporating features and benefits that mobile consumers value, the BenQ Joybee GP2 creates a unique combination of performance and flexibility,” says BenQ president Lars Yoder.
The BenQ Joybee GP2 carries a MSRP of $699.
