McAfee is driving partner profitability with several new channel initiatives – channel investment, growth, and optimization. McAfee has developed these three pillars as the foundation and support for McAfee’s channel strategy to drive mutual profitability.
The investment pillar includes the McAfee Accredited Channel Engineer (ACE) program. This certification enables partners in sales by providing firms with the knowledge, tools, and skill set to drive the technical pre-sales activities. McAfee has also introduced a new program, the McAfee Authorized Support Provider (MASP) program, which has been in a limited pilot around the world and is now generally available. This program allows partners to increase margin potential by supporting customers directly.
McAfee’s second pillar of growth is based on identifying new markets and opportunities for partner growth. The McAfee Security Alliance partner program is expanding beyond resellers to include a new McAfee Managed Service Partner (MSP) Program.
The third pillar of growth, optimize for partners, is designed to aid partner enablement with McAfee. McAfee is now employing a continuing education approach, giving partners more choices and flexibility for how they want to maintain their certification. McAfee will be deploying a new learning management system to accompany the continuing education approach. Both the new certification approach and the learning system will be available in January 2012. †
