Zenith Infotech, one of the industry’s leading providers of remote monitoring and management as well as backup and data recovery and cloud computing solutions, has spun off its managed services business unit. Like Zenith Infotech, the new company, Zenith RMM LLC, will have its base of operations in Warrendale, Pa., and a corporate office in Boston. Summit Partners, a Boston-based growth equity investment firm, owns a majority share of the new business, with Zenith Infotech still a sizeable partner.
Akash Saraf, managing director and CEO of Zenith Infotech, will be on the new company’s board of directors, along with John Carroll and Jason Glass of Summit Partners.
Immediate plans for the remote monitoring and management platform and its integrated Network Operations Center are straightforward: strengthen the product and better serve MSP partners. “There will be increases in sales and marketing and a larger U.S. team, and that will improve communication with partners,” says Steve Ricketts, vice president of marketing for Zenith RMM. “We definitely feel there is low penetration in the market and a very significant opportunity for growth.”
Looking down the road, Ricketts envisions new functionality that is complementary to remote monitoring and management. “We’ll be looking at virtualization, adding additional endpoint support, support for mobility, Mac support—things like that,” he explains.
For now, though, Zenith RMM “is 100 percent focused on managed services,” says Ricketts. The company will continue to provide problem resolution and 24/7 support, and all partner programs will continue as well.
