PacketSure Basic DLP provides monitoring resources for the protection against data loss by blocking undesired protocols, controlling access to websites, creating policies based on active user directories, and reporting activities.
Data loss prevention innovator Palisade Systems announced an SMB-angled version of its popular PacketSure DLP product.
The SMB version, called PacketSure Basic DLP, provides monitoring of network protocols for data loss of PII/PHI, credit cards, social security numbers, etc. It monitors and blocks undesired protocols on the network, monitors and controls access to websites (web monitoring/filtering), creates policies based on active directory groups and users, and reports on the activities it has monitored.
As a promotional offering, Palisade is offering a free trial of PacketSureBasic DLP to the first 500 businesses.
“The concept behind PacketSure Basic is to prove how easy it is to monitor the usage of sensitive data and give businesses instant visibility into what type of data breaches are happening in their business on a daily basis,” says Palisade CEO Spencer Snedecor. “We want businesses of all sizes to know what they don’t know about their data and realize they can achieve an instant ROI with DLP, which is critical to protecting their business.”
Users can download a virtual image of PacketSure Basic DLP immediately or acquire it as a low-cost appliance beginning in late September. It is available as a low-cost subscription, starting at $.50 per user per month.
