Active Media Products says its new 8 GB and 16 GB nine-pin USB 2.0 disk on module drives were designed for low-profile enclosures.
Hardware manufacturer Active Media Products (AMP) has announced the immediate availability of 8 GB and 16 BG low-profile, nine-pin USB 2.0 disk on module (DOM) drives designed for servers and embedded computing applications.
According to AMP, these Type-1 USB DOMs were designed for low-profile enclosures. “Measuring just 35mm x 21mm, they have a very small footprint,” states the company in a press release submitted to Channel Pro-SMB.
“We’re continuing to expand our lineup of DOM products, which already includes nine different types of SATA and PATA DOMs in capacities up to 64 GB,” says AMP vice president of sales Jerry Thomson. “These new USB DOMs are by far the smallest, lightest, and lowest power drives in our DOM family.”
The maximum active power for these USB DOMs is rated at 150MA. The DOMs are also designed to resist greater shock, vibration, dust, and temperature extremes compared to hard disk drives.
The new USB DOMs are available directly from AMP. The 8 GB solution carries an MSRP of $36; the 16 GB version is $65.
