Solution providers and MSPs can now offer a client-hosted VDI solution that is less expensive and less complicated than other offerings.
In response to growing demand for client-hosted VDI, desktop virtualization provider Virtual Computer Inc., in Westford, Mass., launched its global partner program. The aim of the program is to help solution providers and MSPs sell a client-hosted VDI solution that “immediately delivers on what server-hosted VDI had promised,” according to Virtual Computer.
Virtual Computer’s NxTop virtualization solution offers centralized management with localized execution to address the challenges associated with traditional server-hosted VDI, says the company, including high server and network costs, low performance, and limited mobility.
Features of the Virtual Computer Partner Program include sales and technical resources, demand-generation tools, and online self-paced sales and technical courses. There is no sign-up fee and certification training is free. Additional margin is paid to the most proactive and engaged partners.
There are two tiers available for solution provider partners (VARS, integrators, consultants): Authorized partners resell the NxTop solution; certified partners complete the sales and technical training and deliver services for NxTop deployments. Another segment of the program is specifically for managed service providers offering hosted solutions.
