Power and cooling company APC by Schneider Electric announced last week that it has developed an integration offering for its APC InfraStruxure Central with HP’s Operations Manager.
HP Operations Manager is a platform that enables IT managers to understand the impact of physical layer changes on IT systems and business applications. †IT managers can now detect and monitor real-time changes in power, cooling, and environment through HP Operations Manager.
The new Smart Plug-In (SPI) will integrate InfraStruxure Central’s device hierarchy, device status, and monitored data into the HP Operations Manager environment. According to APC, this will help reduce risk, raise data center system availability, and increase energy efficiency.†
The integrated solution was developed in order to:
- Share key data points of multi-vendor devices (including alarm notifications and historical data) on the targeted server deployment environment.
- Provide a comprehensive look at the physical and IT environments’ operation and influence, providing operating information about power and cooling capacity.
“This integration allows customers to take advantage of the centralized view and reporting capabilities of APC’s InfraStruxure Central, in tandem with HP’s Operations Manager, to better monitor complete or comprehensive IT infrastructure,” says APC’s CTO Jim Simonelli.†”APC and HP share the common goal of helping customers run more efficient data centers, by providing comprehensive management tools that deliver cost-effective solutions to improve business applications.”
