Plustek Expands Its SmartOffice Scanner Collection
New models are designed as departmental-class document scanners that feature nine different job automations.
Plustek Technology Inc. is rolling out a couple of new document scanners. The SmartOffice PS406 and SmartOffice PS406U scanners are the latest editions to the company’s SmartOffice line. Both models are Energy Star-certified.
The Plustek SmartOffice PS406 and PS406U departmental-class document scanners offer a scan speed of 40 pages per minute. “The 100-page Automatic Document Feeder and 4,000-page per day duty cycle make these scanners built to scan documents in any heavy usage application,” the company states in a press release submitted to EH Publishing.
The SmartOffice PS406 and PS406U are designed to scan business documents up to 14 inches long and rigid cards, such as ID cards and driver’s licenses, up to 1.2 mm thick without operator adjustments.
The PS406U adds the additional feature of ultrasonic misfeed detection to prevent data and image loss due to documents being fed incorrectly.
The SmartOffice PS406 and PS406U have single-touch buttons that automate up to nine different scanning jobs, including:
- Scan to Searchable PDF
- Save to Folder on a Network
- Save to Folder on a Computer
- Scan to Email
- Scan to Application
- Scan to Printer
Industry standard TWAIN drivers–combined with TIF, JPG, PDF, and Microsoft Office file formats–help ensure compatibility with thousands of scanning and imaging programs.
The PS406 and PS406U carry a MSRPs of $899 and $1,299 respectively.
