There is a new version of M-Files document management software on the market. It’s a cloud-based version of the popular Motive Systems solution.

M-Files Cloud Vault is a new version of M-Files that enables companies to organize and manage company documents and information on secure servers hosted by Motive Systems. The hosted, software-as-a-service version of M-Files requires no set-up, according to its developer, and provides “advanced document management features,” such as automated version management, document check-in and check-out, compatibility with email systems, and automated processing of scanned paper documents.

According to Motive Systems, M-Files Cloud Vault costs “less than $20 per month for each user.”

“Our M-Files technology sets the standard in high-value document management,” says Motive Systems president Greg Milliken, “and M-Files Cloud Vault builds on our foundation by eliminating the need to purchase or set up a server. Using M-Files is just like using Windows Explorer,” he adds. “So, it’s second nature to be instantly productive with M-Files.”

Milliken adds that M-Files Cloud Vault overcomes the limitations of other Web-based alternatives. He says, unlike other Web-based file sharing and management systems that provide access only via a Web browser, the M-Files “Virtual-Local” drive “delivers even when no Internet connection is available.” The M-Files “Virtual-Local” drive provides a synchronization mechanism that caches data on the computer’s local hard drive and automatically synchronizes data with the cloud-based vault.

Milliken says it is “high time” that mainstream Windows users had access to a “smart and simple solution” for managing important business documents.
