ColorQube 9200 Series Printer Now Doles Out Green Advice
The latest software upgrade for the printer series includes Print Advisor, an on-screen feature that will prompt users with resource-saving tips.
Xerox Corp.’s ColorQube 9200 Series multifunction printers are now in the green consulting business–well, at least, the green tip-giving business anyway.
According to Xerox, its ColorQube 9200 Series printers now sport software that will prompts office workers with ways to save money and print greener.
The Web-based software, called Xerox Print Advisor, uses on-screen prompts to alert users to simple actions they can take to print smarter.
For example, if a user chooses to print a multiple page document on one side only, an on-screen message appears that will recommend two-sided printing.
The software also collects data on all print jobs, including page counts, daily page averages, and user averages. It then provides this information along with a variety of detailed reports for IT decision-making processes
Print Advisor is free to ColorQube 9200 Series customers. For IT managers looking for enterprise-wide reports and usage data, Xerox Print Advisor Premium will be available for a fee.
The premium version extends the benefits beyond ColorQube 9200 Series users and provides detailed data and reporting for all networked printers and MFPs (as well as those directly connected to users’ PCs). Administrators are also able to create custom end-user prompts to deliver additional information relevant to their organizations.
Print Advisor is available immediately as a free tool for all ColorQube 9200 Series customers. It is downloadable via Xerox’s Print Advisor Web page.
Print Advisor Premium will be available this fall.
