Distributor Tech Data Corp. hosted its first Technology Solutions Tour conference of the year this week. The event kicked off in Washington D.C. on Thursday, April 22.†
More than 2,000 IT resellers have attended the distributors annual tour, which began 2008. According to Tech Data, the event provides the distributor with the ability to “help resellers identify opportunities to grow their networking businesses with emerging solutions like unified communications, video surveillance, wireless, and network security.”
At each two-day Technology Solutions Tour stop, resellers are encouraged to engage with leading hardware manufacturers, software companies, industry experts, and Tech Data executives to discuss strategies for capitalizing on the demand for IT solutions among end users in the public sector and SMB space.
This week in Washington, D.C., resellers explored the latest data center and networking solutions available in the channel. Tech Data’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division discussed the most effective ways resellers can deploy servers, storage, virtualization, management software, and high-end networking technologies to deliver fully optimized and converged data center solutions.
Tech Data’s Networking Product Marketing Division is also slated to introduce its broad networking product offering at the Tour stop, as well as its various support capabilities.
TechEDG Public Sector Conference
The Technology Solutions Tour is being hosted in conjunction with Tech Data’s annual TechEDG Public Sector Conference. As such, Tour stop attendees will have the opportunity to learn about selling IT solutions to state, local, and federal government agencies and educational institutions.
“The Technology Solutions Tour is a great opportunity for resellers to gain exposure to emerging and in-demand technologies,” explains Tech Data vice president of marketing services Katie Dumala. “We have industry experts providing reseller attendees with advice on introducing cloud computing strategies to customers, selling virtualization and network security, and learning what it takes to crack the public sector.
Dumala says Tech Data will host more than 50 of the channel’s vendors. In addition, she says the distributor has also added a Tech Data Solutions Pavilion to each conference.†
