Level Platforms Inc. (LPI), provider of remote monitoring and management software platform Managed Workplace, announced this week availability of the first AMT Intel Active Managed Technology managed server.
The first product to include the new technology is the Lenovo ThinkServer TS200v (a PDF data sheet for the server is available here.). The Intel AMT managed server from Lenovo combines Level Platforms’ deep server monitoring and management technologies, coupled with Intel vPro integration.
In addition, the recent release of Managed Workplace 2010 incorporates additional integration with Intel AMT, and all of this new, integrated functionality is available to MSPs to manage the Lenovo ThinkServer TS200v.
“Lenovo’s advanced integration of Intel AMT technology into the new Lenovo server brings major new benefits to service providers,” says LPI in a company statement to EH Publishing.
Some of those benefits include:
- New asset details (e.g., BIOS version) being accessible even when the machine is powered off
- Additional event information and alerts (e.g. POST start-up test results)
- Advanced power management capabilities (power-on, power-off and reset
- Serial Over LAN, which supplies a remote access method for powered down or failed systems
- A remote diagnostic and remediation tool (IDE-Redirect), which enables remote operating system repair and remote system diagnostics
“The Lenovo channel now can offer advanced managed services to their SMB customers, which allows them to create new revenue streams while decreasing service delivery costs, all based on a highly differentiated market offering available exclusively from Lenovo,” states LPI.
LPI adds, “Level Platforms partners, on the other hand, can deploy the new Lenovo server technology to their customers and immediately benefit from the new out-of-band management features now available from their central Managed Workplace dashboard.”
According to Lenovo director of SMB business Jay McBain, “The ThinkServer TS200v combines robust functionality with cost-effectiveness for end-customers and MSPs. Leveraging the Intel AMT technology in conjunction with Level Platforms’ Managed Workplace, the TS200v can be managed by MSPs on behalf of their clients, allowing small business customers to have an optimal technology experience.”
