Objectworld Launches Plug and Play Support for Polycom’s VVX 1500, SoundPoint, SoundStation, and KIRK Product Lines
Objectworld UC Server can be quickly deployed with Polycom’s IP telephones and conference phones.
Objectworld Communications Corp., based in Ottawa, Canada, announced expanded support for Polycom Inc. products by Objectworld UC Server with support for the VVX 1500 business media phone; SoundPoint IP 450, 560, and 670 IP desktop phones; and SoundStation IP 6000 and 7000 conference phones. The phones are certified at the Objectworld Connect Plus level, enabling UC Server to automatically detect and configure Polycom phones for plug-and-play installation. Connect Plus support enables an Objectworld unified communications system to be deployed with Polycom phones in less than 15 minutes per user, according to the company, compared with one to four hours per user for other UC or PBX solutions.
Objectworld is also launching support for the Polycom KIRK Wireless Server 300, 600v3, and 6000 and related infrastructure (KIRK Repeaters and the 3040, 4020, 4040, 4080, 5020 and 5040 handsets).†All of the supported products are certified as interoperable by both Polycom under its VoIP Interoperability Partner (VIP) Program and by Objectworld under the Objectworld Connect program.†This complements UC Server’s existing Polycom VIP/Objectworld Connect Plus level support for the Polycom SoundPoint IP 301, 320/330, 430, 501, 550, 601, 650, and SoundStation IP 4000.
“Objectworld is very excited to announce this level of support for Polycom phones,” says David Levy, Objectworld President and CEO. “This demonstrates the commitment made by Objectworld and Polycom to ensure that our products work together, providing dependable, open standards-based unified communications that not only have a much lower TCO than traditional PBXs, but also provide a significant return on investment. Moreover, with Connect Plus, UC Server’s automated deployment wizard, and Active Directory integration with Microsoft Windows, unified communications can be deployed on Polycom’s latest and most sophisticated phones in minutes.”
Objectworld UC Server provides Windows-based VoIP telephony and legacy PBX integration, with centralized administration using Microsoft Active Directory. As the only Windows-based unified communications solution integrated with Windows Server 2003/2008, Windows SBS 2003/2008, and Windows EBS 2008, Objectworld UC Server provides an end-to-end, Microsoft-centric business communications solution and enables customers to integrate business communications with business processes and corporate data.
“We’re delighted to team with Objectworld in an effort to help streamline our customers’ business processes and overall productivity,” says Jim Kruger, vice president of marketing for Voice Communications Solutions at Polycom. “The VVX 1500 delivers a unique blend of voice, video, and applications enablement into one highly intuitive device. The combined features of the VVX 1500 seamlessly integrate with Objectworld’s UC solution to enhance personal productivity, simplify multimedia communications, improve team collaboration, and reduce travel costs.”
“One of the most interesting things to view at VoiceCon Orlando 2009 is going to be Polycom’s VVX 1500 business media phone,”†says David Schenkel, Objectworld’s CTO.†”It provides exactly what we expected from Polycom: a high-quality HD Voice phone with desktop video conferencing capabilities. But the VVX 1500 is also an ideal Web-based application services terminal due to its large color touch screen and its integrated micro-browser with Polycom’s open XML API.†This allows the VVX 1500 to be integrated with back-end web applications that leverage Objectworld UC Server’s ability to create industry sector and vertical market communications applications such as overhead paging, attendance, and emergency notifications for schools, and public area and hotel room hospitality services.”†
Polycom provides a range of SIP telephones for entry level, mainstream, and performance users as well as HD Voice conference phones and industry standard digital enhanced cordless telecommunications (DECT) solutions.†
Objectworld will demonstrate its UC Server K-12 student attendance application designed for the VVX 1500 at†VoiceCon in Orlando from March 30 to April 2, 2009. The demo will take place in Polycom’s booth number 309.
